About This Site

This site was brought to you by the guy that did ezyeric.com. Over time I ran out of space and was over my bandwidth limit every month because of so many downloads. In order to help with that I added a donate page to my ezyeric.com website and eventually enough fans donated and I could get a new webpage package. This is the resulting page. I just made basic boring page with links at first, but I had intentions to make a more advanced site.
I wanted to make a dynamic website that would monitor and keep track of everything for me. In order to do that I knew that I needed to use a database and a language such as ASP or PHP. Since my webhost was unix based they only had PHP so I used that. I did not know how to use PHP so I got a book on it and mySQL (databse). It took a long time to read and do all the tutorial in this book (18-30 hours), but once I did I had the knowledge to begin making the site. Shortly after that I began working on the php pages and designing the database structure. I began spending many hours on the project. I think I have now spent 50-60 hours on the programming part of this site and another 10 hours on uploading and describing files. So in total I have invested nearly 100 hours towards this site, but it was worth it because the site will manage itself except for a few things.

I decided that this would be a members only site, but signing up is free and I will not share any of you info with anyone. Dont worry I cannot see your password it is encrypted in the database. The members thing allows me to see who is downloading what. Since I do have a limit on bandwidth (and to prevent hording) I have limited downloads to 30 a month per user. This should be more than enough as there wont likely be but a few new performances each month. And even with that limit I am likely to go way over my limit. I also made it so that you cannot download a file more than once unless you request it. Once you download a file you should have saved it to your computer and you should not have to download it again.

In regards to files I wanted to be able to have all of my Lifehouse Audio and Video up at one time and not have to take files down and put others up as needed. Almost every Lifehouse file I have should soon be up on the site. The exceptions are I WILL NOT put up the files of songs you can buy at the store (Lifehouse CD's) with the exception of maybe a single soundtrack song. I also have decided not to put up the many many fan done digital (still) camera videos. These are usually short clips and have very bad audio. I am still in the process of adding a few files so do not think this collection is complete (or my collection is lacking).

Please do yourself a favor and organize your lifehouse files. Make a folder for each type, like acoustic, bsides, live, etc. And within those folders have subfolders for each major thing like Amsterdam, etc. Otherwise things will not be organized and you could misplace files. I renamed many files in case you didnt put them in subfolders though.

Another IMPORTANT note is that you do NOT have to RIGHT CLICK and save as. I have implemented a method which will bring up the download save dialog with just the normal left click. You can right click and save as but this could sometimes result in you downloading a webpage not the file.

Another issue is credits. I am not the original recorder / ripper of all the files on this site. They are from many sources and if I know the source I like to give credits. Many files I do not know the recorder / source so if you know any then please let me know so I can be sure to give credits where needed.

In regards to the site layout. You will notice there is not a single graphic, which is totally not like me. I decided to just choose an organized simple layout for right now as I can add the pretty stuff later. The important thing is the files. This is a media site and I am providing you media, thats the core, the most important and so I focused on making that work. With that said there still may be some errors, if you encounter any please let me know. This site is best viewed with Mozilla Firefox with 1024x768 resolution. The only thing I did not like was how I did the download categories in a table on the top of that page. I will likely change that soon but for now that will work. Thanks for coming to the site and please enjoy the files.
